Making Easter Decorations

If you love to make your own embellishments, making larger home decorations will be something that appeals to you . Essentially, your decoration is an embellishment, just on a larger scale. Here are some ideas when thinking about handmade banners and other decorations: - If you love making tags, try making a banner. It's simply a larger-scale project. - It's a great way to showcase a pretty piece of paper that you simply can't bring yourself to cut. - Add a special touch to a child's room by making a banner with his or her name on it and showcasing loved things with smaller embellishments to decorate it. - Tie your home decor projects into a season, holiday or your regular home decor. - It's also a great way to make party-themed decorations or for occasions that are hard to find decor for. Create a wedding banner that is the perfect color or theme.I used the Easter Seasonal cartridge to cut eggs, flowers and chicks, as well as the phrase 'Happy Easter', while the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge was used to cut my bunny and basket. I also used Tim Holtz Pewter Distress Paint to add some extra dimension to my project around the bunny. A bow and adhesive gems for a little sparkle finished it all off.

promote your scrap book site with good articles

If you own a craft site and want more exposure for your work, this is what you do. Simply write an article. It could be a craft and or project or pattern that people can do at home. It could be a piece about how you do what you do. A woodworker could give tips about the best tools to use. A candle maker could give tips about the best wax or molds to use. Once you have your article, you let other people publish it on their website . How does this help me? –You wonder. In exchange for using your article, the publishing website also puts up what's called a resource box. This is just a little "About the Author" section that tells a little about you and has an active link back to YOUR website. That way, everyone who reads your article on another website can follow the link to your site. It's really just free publicity. You're getting free advertising space on someone else's website. And that link will help you out on search engines too.

How to Make Bookmarks with Word Processing Software

You can use your trusty word processor and clip art, or create a cut and paste collage of favorite clips and craft embellishments (perhaps from scrapbook leftovers) on a nice piece of card stock.

WORD PROCESSOR METHOD: Create a landscape page (wider rather than longer for the larger dimension) then create a table with 4 equally sized columns to fill up the page - each column will become one bookmark. Next, add interesting borders around the cells and any background color you wish.

Insert clip art images or pictures from your computer, digital camera or graphics collections into the columns.Size the graphics to fit within the table columns or use a text box or frame to crop out what you don't want to print. Alternatively, you can edit your art or photo in a graphics program to make it the exact size you need.

Using the same technique (using a frame or text box) add words that will print on top the pictures or add boxes of text with white or colored backgrounds that print on the graphics or around them. For example, make the graphic you add to each bookmark smaller, so it's a decoration at the top, middle or bottom of the bookmark, then add a bit of poetry or a special quote to the rest of the table column blank space areas.

Free Digital Scrapbooking Templates

Have you ever wondered what Digital Scrapbooking is? I did, so I looked it up. Digital Scrapbooking is basically making a collage of your photos, art, layouts, fonts, etc in a graphics, or “Image Editing” program. It is just like Scrapbooking, only without the book! If you enjoy working with computers and showing off your work/art, this is a great way to go! It is especially good if you take a lot of Digital Photo’s. How broke can you go with Digital Scrapbooking? No Need! I found out how you can begin with more than the basics for low cost, or free! If you own a Digital Camera, then you most likely have some type of software that came with it. These are often referred to as “Image Editing” Package’s, or software. Most of these software programs, allow you to create “Albums” right on your computer. Other programs you can purchase that are REAL nice are: Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, Ulead, Adobe, or Microsoft Picture It only to name a few. Now, you can create all your own scrap book art, if you like. But, if you want to save time, and go the traditional way, just download some free templates for yourself. I will list an abundance of digital scrapbooking templates and freebies for you. So, now you know that Digital Scrapbooking is just done on the computer.
